History

Beautiful Upright

Upright was born and raised at Black Lightning Horses Inc. Already as foal she won people's hearts over with her beautiful look and her amiable character. With 4 years old she was professionally started on the lunge line and under saddle. From the start she was very eager and nicely forward-going.

 

Extended Trot: Uphill and fluid	Right from the start Upright was absolutely uncomplicated. Where ever you take her she proves to be dependable and impressively reliable. This stunning mare always goes well rounded under saddle which adds to her attention demanding looks. Lots of presence and her athleticism draw the eyes of everybody to her. She also has great endurance and loves to work.
A 10+ walk, trot and canter makes it easy for her to shine at home or in the show ring. Her walk is very long strided and she is tracking over almost a foot. The trot is very smooth and always uphill. In the collection Upright develops a great suspension and in the extended gaits her impulsion and thrust from the hind quarters make her stand out. In the canter you will feel the power from behind that enables her to stride high up and out in the extended canter. It also provides you with so much engagement that flying lead changes, half pass or canter pirouettes will never be an issue to worry about.	Collection
10+ canter	Upright's first show was the National Show at Blue Star Farms in 2009. She showed Training Level where this athletic mare earned scores of 66.52 and 69.29%. Upright was one of the very few horses that dealt completely competent and confident with the treacherous footing and big puddles in the show ring. While other and much older horses shied and bucked at the flooded area young but reliable Upright kept her attention focused on her rider and went around the ring with fluid and elastic gaits despite splashing through deep water. Many people at the show grounds were keeping their eyes on this impressive Dressage horse and the judges commented "Lovely horse with lots of talent" and "Beautiful horse with great potential and truly confirmed in contact".
Today this fabulous horse schools Second Level movements at home. Transitions, lateral movements like shoulder-in and leg-yield, extended and collected gaits are part of Upright's daily routine. Her suspension and impulsion in the collected and extended gaits will satisfy even the biggest critic. In the spring she will be ready to show First and Second Level and then she will prove again that she is an exceptional horse with a difference. Paired with the right rider this mare has the charming personality, the spectacular movements and the magnetic expression to make it all the way up to the Grand Prix ring.	Powerful extended canter
