Hygh Five is a registered ISR/Oldenburg gelding descending from imported breeding stock. Both parents came over from Germany and both are registered and approved by the German Trakehner Verband and ISR/Oldenburg.
From early on Hygh Five loved people's attention and was known to come to the fence for patting and playing whenever he saw somebody approach the pasture. Ignoring his dam's calls he could indulge for hours his curiosity about human beings and what they have in their pockets.
He grew up to become a incredibly social and people-oriented horse that gets along amazingly well with other horses and still has an inquisitive mind.

Hygh Five was started under saddle in December 2009. After only a couple of days he was going well rounded and in a relaxed frame, moving energetically forward. He is very light on the bit and moves freely off the rider's seat and leg. It is truly amazing how easy going and fast learning this youngster presents himself. The handsome gelding is currently learning lateral movements like leg-yield and shoulder-in and has started with extensions in trot and canter. Transitions trot-halt and canter-walk are part of his daily routine as well as rein back and turn-on-the-forehand. Once understood he performs everything flawless and willingly.
He has also started free jumping and shows an aptitude for it which he inherited from his sire who was a successful show jumper in Germany. Hygh Five jumps in a relaxed and economically manner, clearing the 3'6" high oxer without any hesitation or struggle.
Descending from bloodlines bred for Dressage, eventing and jumping it is hard to tell to which successful show career Hygh Five's remarkable talent will lead him. In Dressage he will clearly be an FEI prospect for the Young Horse classes in the coming years.

SIRE:
Through his sire's side Hygh Five carries valuable jumper genes that have proven themselves in many perfromance horses. Hygh Five's sire HYMNAR was imported to Canada in 2000 after competing successfully in Germnay as show jumper. He is registered with the German Trakehner Verband and approved by CTHS and ISR/Oldenburg in North America. He is by Turnus out of Hykona.
SIRE's SIRE:
Hymnar's sire TURNUS by Zauberklang out of Turandot IV was awarded Premium Stallion status. The 16.3hh chestnut with lots of chrome was approved in 1983 with the comments of the inspection team stating that "he is a robust and dry looking stallion out of one of the best performance mother lines. Elegant head with a big eye, a long and well carried neck, very good topline. Movements are very energetic and straight. The stallion is well suited for breeding sport horses." Turnus scored 8 in Temperament and character and 7's in his movements and jumping during his performance test and placed eleventh. He himself had later on a very successful career as show jumper.
Turnus' dam goes back to FLANEUR and his sire MAHARADSCHA, two stallions that also left a huge influence in the modern breeding of sporthorses worldwide.
Flaneur was Reserve Champion of the 1967 Körung at Neumünster, and was approved with the comments: "Exemplary model with much significance in the whole appearance. Typey head; good neck; well-positioned, broad, and well-muscled shoulder; good and uniformily conditioned body. Strong and correct in the foundation with good, straight movement. The stallion has proven himself to be a predictable, above-average sire." Performance tested at Westercelle 1968, Flaneur was highly scored and described as follows: "Quiet, very balanced temperament, playful but good in character. Constitution tight and firm. Good rideability, balanced, uncomplicated and comfortable to ride. Better than average jumping ability; good overall performance ability; good ground-covering walk, swinging and correct trot, well-balanced loose canter. A stallion with many possibilities." His sireline (Maharadscha by Famulus) is based on the Arab Fetysz. Maybe this is what makes him so special. His impact on the Warmblood breed is great, having sired 15 graded stallions in Germany (the most important generally considered to be Arogno) and 106 Stud Book daughters, including the States Premium Mare Maharani II (dam of Elite Stallion Mackensen and full brothers Mahagoni and Marlon) and Elite Mares Kanconette and Karawane II. His descendents are sought after for competition, and his son Troubadour was Christine Stückelberger's reserve mount for the Seoul Olympics. Flaneur died in 1988. Maharadscha’s dam Marke is also very influential as foundation mare of her own damline that produced sires such as Mahagoni, Matador (grandsire of Top 30 FEI Dressage sire Hohenstein) or Mackensen.

Hygh Five's grandsire ZAUBERKLANG was performance tested in 1977 at Klosterhof Medingen and finished as Reserve Champion. He also won DLG-Champion (National Agricultural Society) in Germany in 1980. "The stallion is in possession of a very high breeding-value and is an outstanding top-sire, well made in every respect; highly noble and very typey but nevertheless solid and pithy. Well balanced and very significant in all proportions; exemplary suppleness in his way of going; hardly surpassable in expression, type and overall quality' (German Stallion Book). Zauberklang was sold to the United States where he had a very successful career in Dressage and became Champion at Devon. He produced many successful offspring and several champions. The chestnut left 4 approved sons in Germany: Sedar and Enim Pascha placed highly in Advanced Level Dressage, Jumping and Eventing, Zenith earned ribbons in Dressage up to the highest levels and Turnus had a successful career as show jumper. Zauberklang's damline goes back to the Hämelschenburger Elite mare Zauberspiel, which was well placed at DLG and Champion-mare at the Regional Broodmare Show. Her line is known for the wonderful jumpers it has produced and is a very important bloodline in Germany for the production of jumpers.

ULTIMATE GIRL by Kupferberg-Gold out of Untouchable is a wonderful broodmare and Dressage horse. Imported to Canada in 2000 she was started under saddle as 3-year-old where she impressed with lots of impulsion and suspension, a trait that she clearly passes on to her offspring. As 4-year-old she became a broodmare after passing her approval with the CTHS with a very good score of 54 points. She is also approved with ISR/Oldenburg NA with a score of 101, narrowly missing elite mare status. She has produced 4 outstanding foals so far and is bred to Oldenburg stallion Donarweiss.
DAM's SIRE:
Great sire KUPFERBERG-GOLDwas winner of his Koerung in Germany in 1985. His outstanding movements with textbook style impulsion and flowing suppleness through his whole body gave him paired with his calm demeanour and extremely personable character a great advantage over his competitors. During the following stallion auction he received the highest bid and was sold for the (back then) record price of DM 100,000 to the Netherlands. He finished his 100-day performance test in Germany as 9th out of 51 stallions with a high ride-ability index and an even higher jumping index. The comments of the inspectors attested him nobility and a beautiful type with an outstanding neck and a clear and harmonious top line as well as a very correct and dry foundation. The gaits were classified as superior in engagement, reach and suppleness. The stallion was later on successful up to Advanced Level Dressage.
Kupferberg-Gold improved for more than 10 years the Warmblood breeding in the Netherlands before he came back to Germany in 1997 where he is also approved for Warmblood mares of Rheinland, Wurttemberg and Holstein, as well as Trakehner mares. He has produced many victorious offspring not only for the Dressage sport but also for Jumping. All of his foals inherited their sire’s beauty, type and athleticism along with his smooth and elegant movements.

DAM'S GRANDSIRES:
Kupferberg-Gold’s sire MAHON was approved at Neumünster in 1980, then 100-day performance tested at Adelheidsdorf in 1981 where he finished 3rd out of 61 stallions. The Hanoverian Verband approved him as an improvement sire and he was also approved for the ATA. The approval committee complimented him on a “very compact and deeply muscled body of medium size with strong, correct foundation; very distinct breed features; excellent way of going with respect to suppleness, balance, compactness and ground cover”. In Germany he stood at the famous stud farm of Hubertus Poll until September of 1983 when he was sold and imported to Yancey Farm, TX in the USA. He produced such stallions as Kupferberg-Gold (NED), Pour le Merite (FRG), Gideon, Horizon, Volldampf and the now gelded Harper, all in the USA until his most unfortunate and too early death in 1986. Mahon stood out because of his fabulous ride-ability coupled with uphill movements, naturally great self-carriage and an extremely active hind end which translated into a powerful thrust and strong engagement. The stallion is considered one of the best sons of his world renowned sire Mahagoni.
Premium Stallion HABICHT by Burnus out of Hallo impressed the judges at the Stallion Koerung with his wonderful movement and a dominating appearance. A year later he won the stallion performance test at Westercelle with a commanding lead. At the age of seven, Habicht was to start a sports career and would later return to breeding duties. Following in the footsteps of his father Burnus, Habicht was offered to the German Olympic Committee, where a competition ensued between the disciplines. Dr. Klimke wanted him as a dressage horse, and German team rider and Olympic medallist Lutz Goessing asked to have him as a show jumper. The event team won out, and Martin Plewa (later German National Coach for 3-day eventing) was chosen to be his rider. After six years in the sport, Habicht retired as one of the most successful three-day event horses competing on the national circuit. His international career was, however, hampered by tragedy. Habicht was the top qualifier for the '76 Montreal Olympics, as well as the World Championships in Lexington, Kentucky, in 1978, but was not able to start at either venue. Prior to the '76 Olympics, Plewa was seriously injured in a fall from another horse, and prior to the World Championships, he was involved in a car accident. Plewa credits Habicht with giving him the confidence to compete again after his fall. Together the pair won the acclaimed international three-day event at Achselschwang '77 in the tough mountainous terrain near Munich, and Habicht was the best German horse at Burghley '76, England. Habicht’s offspring collect since the late 70’s until today ribbons and honors in all disciplines on the international level. Livius by Habicht and Ann Kursinski (USA) were a winning combination in Show jumping in the 80’s, Windfall by Habicht was 2003 the best eventing horse in the world. Windfall also won Olympic Team Bronze with Darren Chiachia (USA) in 2004.
